Tithing is a biblical commandment that we should always be obedient to!

I was taught that the Bible is truth and so whatever God says, we must and must not do. Tithing is something that we must do, in obedience to God. It is not an option; yet we should give it because we love Him . . . cheerfully, not kicking and screaming. What blessings can we receive, if we do things out of force, versus love?

I was also taught to give 5% offering, on top of the 10% tithe. Before any money is spent or set aside for monthly expenses, God’s portion needs to be set to one side.

God is an awesome God, for even when things don’t seem to look possible, in terms of income versus expenses—He ALWAYS makes a way. Don’t ever doubt God on this one thing—for if you do, then what do you trust Him in? Shouldn’t you trust Him in ALL things? He’ll prove to you that He will provide, no matter your circumstance!

Proverbs 3:9 (KJV)
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Malachi 3:8-10 (KJV)
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Mark 12:41-44 (KJV)
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

2 Corinthians 9:7K (KJV)
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
