11 Year Old Boy Shoots His 12 Year Old Neighbor After She Didn’t Let Him See Her Puppy
Aside from the massacre in Oregon last week, there have been other reports that are just as haunting.
An 11-year-old boy in Tenessee has been charged with a first-degree murder. The boy, whose identity was not released due to his juvenile status, shot his neighbor McKayla Dyer after she refused to let him see her puppy.
“He was making fun of her, calling her names, just being mean to her. I had to go to the principal about him and he quit for a while and then all of a sudden yesterday he shot her. She was a precious little girl. She was mommy’s girl. No matter how bad of a mood you were in, she could always make you smile.”- McKayla’s mother, Latasha Dyer
According to The Gun Violence Archive, 559 children aged 11 or under have been killed or injured in the United States in gun violence so far this year.
The boy shot the girl from inside his home with his father’s 12-gauge shotgun, Jefferson County Sheriff Bud McCoig said.
With what we are seeing in today’s world, it doesn’t take a genius to know that there is no education having to deal with firearms. It is ridiculous to think that no violence will take place without the proper understanding of the harm guns can do. We live in a world that tells our kids that guns are nothing but a toy. It is up to you as a Christian to instill moral values into your children and educate them about God’s view towards violence.
