These Truly Deserving Heroes Are Awarded With The Legion Of Honor.
The three American men who, along with a Briton and Frenchman, subdued a terrorist on a train heading from Amsterdam to Paris, are officially acknowledged by the president of France. Francois Holland awarded them with the Legion Of Honor for their heroic deeds that potentially saved a great deal of lives.
It happened on a Friday when a man brought an automatic gun on the train and opened fire, wounding three people before the heroes knocked him down. The suspect is a 26-year-old Moroccan man named Ayoub El-Khazzani, who was later revealed to be an Islamic extremist upon questioning.
One of the Americans, a U.S. Airman named Spencer Stone, was also credited for saving the life of a French-American teacher who suppressed the bleeding of a gunshot wound on their neck until paramedics arrived.
