In June 2014, Lambert, an African lion, was rescued from a family that purchased him illegally. The father had purchased the lion for his 2 and 3-year old after they wanted a “Simba” after watching the Lion King. When they could no longer care for him, they abandoned him.

Lambert was then given to the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). The founder of GFAS, Vicky Keahey, graciously accepted!

To calm him down and comfort him, Keahey gifted him with some blankets.

There isn’t a night that Lambert sleeps without a blanket! The staff provides him with fresh, clean and warm blankets every other day. He’s now two years old, and still loves to curl up in his blankets!
