Little Boy Was Born With Kidney Failure – Here Is How God Answered A Family’s Prayers
Baby Damien was diagnosed with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease while he was still in the womb. His parents were told that Damien would likely not survive birth because neither of his kidneys showed signs of functionality. Doctors also said that it would be wise to plan for a funeral if they decided to go through with the pregnancy.
The following video is more than a year old, and it shows Damien at the height of his condition suffering during treatment. His condition had gotten to the point where it was so bad he could not even have a drink of water.
The post, which his mother shared to Facebook, had this caption:
“How do I explain it to him??? It kills me to see him so sad and he has started saying “I don’t want to be sick anymore” whenever I tell him he can’t have water. uggg, my heart is breaking listening to him say this…Damien I don’t want you to be sick anymore either buddy and I wish with everything in me I could trade places with you. I love you snuggle bug to the moon and back!”
Please be sure to read on what happened next after the video.
Damien was born with working kidneys, but they failed at just 4 months. Damien’s family later found out, through genetic testing that he was being treated for the wrong diagnosis. What he was actually suffering from was a much worse and far rarer kidney disease known as Nephronophthisis 3.
His condition of Nephronophthisis 3, led to kidney failure, liver failure, severe developmental delays, poor muscle tone, the inability to eat by mouth, along with bone deformities, and heart trouble.
Although the family suffered through many hardships during this period, many times they felt as if their world was shattering under their feet, they faithfully kept their trust in God. The family believed that God will do what he says he will do and deliver them from these tough times. Damien did successfully receive a kidney transplant. God heard this family’s prayers.

This is the new Damian today:
Moments like these finally make us realize just how much suffering is occurring in the world that we do not necessarily see on a daily basis. A prayer for hurting children as well as a huge realization that we are truly blessed, with our health, is something we should not oversee.
We pray for the hurting and ill children. Not only for the children’s well-being but also for strength and courage to for the parents; to see hope in your wonderful glory. We pray, in thanks, for allowing us the precious moments you bless on to us. But also, in forgiveness for the times we boast in health without thanking your blessings.
