This Barber’s Unique Way Of Cutting Hair Paid Off With His 1 Tiny Customer
James Williams, of Jim the Trim barber shop in Briton Ferry, Wales, went far and beyond satisfy 1 tiny customer of his. As you can see in the photos that he posted to his Facebook page, he got down on the ground next to Mason, a boy who has Autism, in order to cut his hair.
Of course, this technique is not traditionally used, but how many times have you seen a barber go out of his way for his customers this way? Mason had been uncomfortable with getting haircuts in the past. James tackled the problem uniquely and got down to the child’s level literally. He’s received praise from people on the social media site, admiring his simple gesture.
“He wouldn’t allow me to go near one of his ears, he would run away [at] times if he wasn’t up to it.” – Williams explained in his Facebook post.
Williams did try a couple of other methods in the past. However, he decided on his new technique when he noticed that the boy was more comfortable on the floor.
“I went on the floor as I found that’s where he always wanted to be. He played on his father’s phone, watched random programs, and that entertained him,” Williams, who also quieted the rest of the shop for the cut, told People.com. “So I thought, ‘Let’s join him and lay with him and see if it works.'”
