2,000 – 3,000 Homeless To Receive Free Food, Beanies, And Undergarments
On December 4th, 2015 Yea.Nice is hosting the first ever Beanies4Life donation event on Skid Row. Beanies4Life is a 1-for-1 program by the leading beanie brand, Yea.Nice. The city of Los Angeles has shut down San Julian Street between 6th & 7th as Yea.Nice is giving out 5,000 Beanies4Life polar fleece lined beanies. Partners of this event are the world’s largest hot dog company Weinershnitzel, leading underwear brand Ethika, and the national retail chain Tillys. Medical attention will also be provided by City Help to provide basic care. Between all event partners will have 75 staff and volunteers working the event and anticipate somewhere between 2,000 – 3,000 people who are experiencing homelessness to be in attendance.
Some notable people in attendance will be Tilly’s CEO Ed Thomas, Weinerschnitzel owner JR Galardi, Ethika CEO and owner Matt Cook, Dream Center founder and owner Matthew Barnett, Yea.Nice & Beanies4Life co-founders Josh Sherman and JJ Thomas and one of the most sought after youth speakers in the country Mike Smith.
Their goal is to provide people with adequate and warm clothing to fight the cold winter months and to feed people and to raise awareness about homelessness.
