Adriana Lopez, a teacher from Staten Island’s PS22 didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary when she went to work, but the kids in the school’s choir had a special surprise for this teacher who recently started fighting breast cancer. They decided to perform Martina McBride’s “I’m gonna love you through it” for her:
“When you feel lost and scared to death, like you can’t take one more step, just take my hand, together we can do it – I’m gonna love you through it.”
Lopez couldn’t contain herself during the touching performance that was dedicated to her. We wiped away tears with tissues:
“I want to thank you for this special moment…It’s not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school.”
Having cancer is tough, but with people like this standing behind you, it might be a little more bearable!
