Proper Installation Of Your Child’s Car Seat Is What Is The Most Important Thing To Remember!

Mom Kylee Barrett could have been mourning the death of her son right now had it not been for a decision she made long ago about her baby’s car seat.

Barrett was driving with her 5-year-old son, Kolton, with her 2-year-old son, Hunter, when she suddenly hit a thick patch of black ice on the road. To evade a head-on collision with another car, Barrett swerved to the opposite side of the road.

The family ended up crashing into a tree that crushed Hunter’s side of the car. Such impact caused Hunter’s car seat to bend, but it did its job and absorbed most of the impact from the collision. Although seriously injured, it saved baby Hunter from imminent death. (Continued Below)

Barrett has made it a mission to make sure that other parents know that it was Hunter’s car seat that saved her son’s life. Specifically, she wants to make it known that it was PROPER INSTALLATION that resulted in the miracle of her son.

Heather Viers, advocate for children’s safety, is using the photos of Hunter’s crushed car seat to make a point on proper car seat use.

“This specific seat retails for $100. It’s NOT a ‘nice’ seat, but it further illustrates the point that you don’t have to spend a fortune to keep your child safe. Get your car seats checked by a CPST. Use it properly every.single.time. The life of your child relies on it.”

The cost of the car seat does not matter, whether you will spend $100 or $1000, the important thing to remember is that proper installation is what is going to save your child’s life. Even if you have your doubts on your own installation, visit your local fire station. Their crew members will inspect your car seat and install it properly.
