Be Careful When Consuming These Foods – They Are Known To Cause Food Poisoning

Attorney Bill Marler has spent his last two decades litigating against food companies that have poisoned their customers. He has won more than $600 million for his clients who have suffered food poisoning. He comments on what foods he just won’t eat because they are commonly poisoning citizens.

According to Marler, unpasteurized milk and juices, raw sprouts, rare meat, pre-washed fruits and veggies, undercooked eggs, and raw shellfish are all too risky to consume. All of the foods listed are known to carry E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and other dangerous bacteria.

Salmonella from raw bean sprouts has sent many people to the hospital. In 2010, a Salmonella outbreak from uncooked eggs affected 2000 people.

According to Marler, raw oysters are a sponge for bacteria, and can accumulate a large quantity of it.

“Oysters are filter feeders, so they pick up everything that’s in the water. If there’s bacteria in the water it’ll get into their system, and if you eat it you could have trouble. I’ve seen a lot more of that over the last five years than I saw in the last 20 years. It’s simply not worth the risk.”

Sushi is also known to cause troubles. However, according to Marler, sushi is actually perfectly okay to eat if you make sure that you buy your sushi from restaurants that have good reputation.

“If you’re going to eat sushi, spend the money and eat at a good sushi restaurant.”
