Former First Lady, Nancy Reagan, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 6th 2016, of congestive heart failure. The devoted wife of the 40th President of the United States, former President Ronald Reagan, had been dealing with various health issues leading up to her passing. She was 94-years-old.
Nancy Reagan was an actress, as well as a fashion icon, but perhaps best known as the face of “Just Say No” drug awareness campaign that spearheaded the now controversial “war on drugs era” in the United States.
A representative for the Reagan Libray put out a statement, saying:
“Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004. Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the Library.”
According to NBC News, President Barack Obama and Michelle expressed their sympthy and support saying:
“We remain grateful for Nancy Reagan’s life, thankful for her guidance, and prayerful that she and her beloved husband are together again”
Nancy’s step-son Michael Reagan wrote his own statement in a Facebook post: “She is once again with the man she loved. God Bless.”
