They Shot This Horse More Than 100 Times With Paint Balls, She Is Now In Recovery
Lily, a 20-year-old horse, is recovering after being shot more than 100 times with paintballs. She’s staying at the New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Chester County.
“In 15 years, I’ve never seen another paintball case. You can tell she’s a sweetie and you can tell she’s happy to be getting some food and some care.” – New Bolton Center veterinarian Dr. Rose Nolen-Walston
Lily was found after a horse sale in Lancaster County after the horse auctions had dispersed. She had no owner.
“It was deplorable,” Smith said. “Her eye was swollen shut. The other one she can’t see out of her head was hanging down. She was very depressed.”
Doctors are making sure that Lily recovers to good health. According to the veterinarians, the paintballs only caused body soreness but no permanent damage. We’re so glad Lily has thick skin, literally.
