Hospital Is Giving Boxes For New Mothers To Put Their Babies In
The infant mortality rate in Philidelphia is now at the highest that it’s ever been, so Temple University Hospital is stepping up to do something about it. Their hope is that “baby boxes” might be able to shift the numbers and begin to cut that death rate short.
The distribution of baby boxes being given to parents come pre-lined with a mattress, as well as contain essential items for newborns like onesies and baby books. The introduction of the boxes will hopefully begin to curve the numbers, and shift the trend of newborn babies dying by being suffocated by their parents while sleeping in bed.
