Huge Fight At School, Students Maced, School Cancelled

Youngstown,OH- Classes were released early at East High School and cancelled for Wednesday after a huge fight broke out that required police intervention. Police cruisers and medical vehicles were sent to the school around 11:15 am on Tuesday, March 8th after reports were received by the department.

21 News reported that they witnessed at least 5 juveniles in handcuffs while other students were carrying ice packs. Some students reported being maced by police and one girl was seen dabbing her face with milk to ease the pain.

Police reported that the fight was contained by 11:30am and that students were contained in their classrooms.

A second fight erupted in the cafeteria, but the police were able to contain it quickly.

Buses have been provided for student who did not have a ride home after School officials cancelled classes for the rest of today and Wednesday.

Causes of the fight are still being determined, but some students report that the fight started on the lower levels of the school and continued to the upper levels.
