Laughter Really Is The Best Medicine!
Have you ever heard the phrase, “laughter is the best medicine”?
As it turns out, laughter indeed is a very effective medicine.
When you laugh, your whole body becomes relaxed. A good, hearty laugh relieves you of your stress and leaves your muscles relaxed for a good 45 minutes.
Because laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, it is able to boost the immune system.
Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins are able to relieve pain, which is why there are times when something that is supposed to hurt, doesn’t really hurt as much if you’re laughing it off.
Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, this means that it serves as an effective way to prevent a heart attack.
