Michigan Restaurant Opens Their Doors To Those In Need Of Company And Warm Food On Thanksgiving Day
A restaurant in Michigan is refusing to let people go hungry and alone this Thanksgiving Day.
Michigan restaurant owner George Dimopoulos wants everyone in his community to have a warm meal and a seat at a table with good company. He is opening his restaurant George’s Senate Coney Island to his community this Thanksgiving, and is offering anyone a free meal.
“The reason I do this is because I was alone one time. I remember the good times and bad times.”
His restaurant has been serving free Thanksgiving meals for the past decade, serving 75-100 people each year on Thanksgiving day. Dimopoulos was born in greece and came to the United States when he was 23 years old. He knows the feeling of loneliness all to well, as he was once homeless. The photo has gone viral on Reddit, as so:
“If anyone is home alone, come eat with us for free! All day,”
The restaurant is located in Northville, Michigan, in one of the state’s wealthiest areas. However, it borders Oakland and Wayne counties, which have the state’s highest homeless populations. God bless this man for his selfless actions, God will bring you many more blessings!
