An American Icon Has Gone Home Today – Muhammad Ali
It is with saddened hearts that we report to you that the ‘larger than life’ boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, has just died at age 74.
Ali died Friday at a Phoenix-area hospital. He was spending his last few days being treated for respiratory complications.
“After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening,” Bob Gunnell, a family spokesman, told NBC News.
The Parkinson’s Disease, a progressive neurological condition, slowly sapped him of his verbal talents and his physique. A funeral will be planned in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
Muhammad Ali has forever engraved his name in history as one of the greatest minds and boxers to have ever lived.
