Video Surfaces Of A Police Officer Slamming A Middle-School Girl To The Ground
San Antonio authorities are now investigating a video that has surfaced that shows a school designated police officer body-slamming a middle school girl to the ground.
The officer is seen struggling to apprehend a girl. After some frustration and resisting, he picks her up and slams her face down to the ground. He then cuffs her while she is unresponsive for a brief moment.
The girl’s mom, Gloria Valdez, the 12-year-old girl’s mother, is completely outraged:
“Supposedly he was threatened by her that she kicked him, but in the video her legs never went up,” Valdez said.
Valdez’s daughter refused to go on camera, but told KENS that she was having a conversation with another girl as a crowd surrounded them. According to her, that’s when the officer put his hands on her.
“All he had to is grab her and put her to the side,” Valdez said.
The an Antonio Independent School District said that the officer since then has been placed on paid leave.
Do you think this was right? Was the officer in any real danger to take such measures?
