From New Age To The New Testament
Steven Bancarz thought he had it all, a big house, expensive cars, it was the life he had always dreamed of having. He was in the forefront of the online and social media new-age movement; his blog, the well known,”Spirit Science and the Metaphysics,” was amassing hundreds of thousands of viewers every day. Initially, he thought God was “blessing” him for helping out humanity, but even with all these material things, he still felt like he was “lost inside.” On the surface, Bancarz seemed to have everything, but in reality, his life was imploding. One day, he fell to his knees crying out to Jesus, and when he did this he felt the atmosphere begin to change around him, something was happening that he never expected… Jesus showed up.
On the surface, Bancarz seemed to have everything, but in reality, his life was imploding. One day, he fell to his knees crying out to Jesus, and when he did this he felt the atmosphere begin to change around him, something was happening that he never expected… Jesus showed up.
In his video he explains, whether it was “tarot card reading, meditation, lucid dreaming, astral-projection—he ate it up,” almost any type of spiritual knowledge other than Christianity. To him, “Christianity seemed naive and childish.” Bancarz said, “I used to look down on Christians as being thoughtless and intellectually inferior.”
He believed God was impersonal, “I used to think God was like the energy of the universe,” Bancarz recalls. “Jesus,” he viewed, “as being someone that was self-realized, who realized His unity with the divine and that He was calling us to do the same. I thought Jesus was just someone that had ascended to his own “inner god-like nature.”
Still feeling unfulfilled with his life he began to read the gospels. He knew there was something a little different about this ‘Jesus’ guy. One day, as he reached a point of total brokenness, he fell to his knees and cried out to him.
“I went outside on my back balcony of my stupid house … and when I did this, I felt the atmosphere around me start to change. And I could feel in the air that there was something holy and pure around me. And it was also personal, and I knew in that moment that I was in the presence of Jesus. And the quality of everything around me changed. The wind felt like it was infused with His presence, and when it hit me, it would hit me and it just completely broke me. And I felt like He was showing me Himself.”
