Every Knee Shall Bow
In Britain, a new book, written by Queen Elizabeth for her 90th birthday, has quite an interesting and unexpected focus: Jesus Christ, and his centralized role in her life. Beginning right from the title of the book, she calls Jesus “The King I Serve.” Describing his constant faithfulness in her life along with his “steadfast love.”
Co-Author of the book Mark Greene, explains that people have been very interested to hear about the Queens faith, and has become a springboard in his own conversation to be able to talk about Jesus as well as the gospel. The book also touches on the ongoing conflict in the middle east as well as the extreme persecution of Christians there. noting that Christians were literally facing extinction.
The interest is that not much is known about the Queenly life, aside from what is televised or publicly shared, so this book may shed a little light on very personal, interesting and previously unknown details about the Monarchy. Greene explains, “The Queen has served us all her adult life, with amazing consistency of character, concern for others and a clear dependence on Christ. The more I’ve read what she’s written and talked to people who know her, the clearer that is.”
We pray many lives are touched by Christ through the seeds that may be planted by the book.
