Yorkshire Terrier Was Found With His Snout Bound Shut

Kansas City policeman found this 4-year-old Yorkshire terrier in the most appalling conditions. The terrier was named Bannister after the street he was found in.

At the time of the rescue, Bannister was extremely malnourished, due to the fact that his mouth had been bound shut with a rubberband and could not eat.

Little Bannister was found on January 18, in temperatures that dipped into the 20’s.

The police officer brought in Bannister to the local veterinary hospital, where they found several signs of abuse to his face. He had a swollen muzzle, and some deep cuts to his lips. It was evident that someone had bound his mouth shut with some sort of rubber band that eventually disintegrated into the dog’s skin.

Bannister is currently on his way to recovery thanks to the workers at the KC Pet Project. When he is ready, he will be moved into a foster home where he will continue to heal emotionally.
