Burn Survivor Makeup-Artist Tells Her Story Of How She’s Gained Her Confidence
Makeup artist Shalom Nchom recounts a tragic accident that happened to her while she was a young child. She recalls how a hot oil accident took place in her parent’s store in Nigeria when she was just 9-years-old.
She was left with devastating burn marks all over her face, and that’s what brought her to her true passion: Makeup.
Nchom was bullied heavily in school after she was left with scars. Makeup was something she used to in order to make all those bad emotions go away.
“I love myself for who I am. I’m accepting for what has happened to me. Makeup is not the reason why I’m happy. I’m happy because I love myself.”
