Most of the time, we ARE the source of the added stress on our life!

I know that I am guilty of focusing on insignificant things, that sometimes adds stress to my life. I think about my yesterdays and my tomorrows, forgetting about my todays. I need to learn to focus on the little things that make life beautiful!

I’ve been asking God lately, to help me with my measure of faith. I want to wholly trust in Him, for I know that a life surrounded by God’s presence, in all things, will make it more fulfilling!

Try to remember that God and family should be our priority. If we put God first, all things will naturally fall into place!

This short reflection is from Spread Jesus:

The source of our problems and stress.

A group of working adults got together to visit their one-time University lecturer. The lecturer was Happy to see them. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

The Lecturer just smiled and went to the kitchen to get an assortment of cups, some porcelain, some in plastic, some in glass, some plain looking and some that looked rather exquisite and expensive.

The Lecturer offered his former students the cups to get drinks for themselves. When all the students had a cup in hand with water, the Lecturer spoke: “If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not the cup, but we all unconsciously went for the better cups.

“Just like in life, if Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold/maintain life, but the quality of life doesn‘t change.”

“If we only concentrate on the cup, we won’t have time to enjoy/taste the water in it.”

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Matthew 15:8 (KJV)
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

John 17:3 (KJV)
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
