Son Refuses To Leave Behind His Father – He Takes Father With Him To The University To Continue To Care For Him
A university student in Henan, China, had gone away to continue his studies at a University. However, before he left to continue his studies, his father fell ill and became paralyzed.
Zhao Delong was faced with a tough choice. Either go on with his studies and leave his ill father behind, or stay with his father and give up on his education. He came up with a 3rd choice…
When Zhao Delong was small, he suffered from polio, but his parents fought to find treatment for him. After a risky surgery, he was able to walk again. So when it came time to make his decision, Zhao took his paralyzed father with him to the university.
Each day Zhao helps his dad wash his face, brush his teeth and comb his hair, basically keeps him clean and presentable. Zhao prepares meals and helps his dad with therapy exercises.
The university fit in father and son in a special dorm room due to their unique situation.
“My dad took care of me. Now that he’s ill, I can’t just leave him behind,” Zhao explains.
