Strawberry Moon Is Taking Place Tonight On The First Day Of Summer!

The summer solstice that is supposed to take place tonight will be extra special. For the first time since 1967, the full moon will coincide with the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, which is the longest day of the year.

The June Moon is also known as the Strawberry Moon, a name given to it by the Native American Algonquian tribes. It was not named for its color, but because June is the time of the year in which strawberries are ripe for the pickin’.
