Gunman Is Identified As A Former Member Of The News Station

The suspect of the fatal shooting that took the lives of 24-year-old Alison Parker and 27-year-old Adam Ward is identified as Vester Lee Flanagan II.

Also known as Bryce Williams, the 41-year-old claimed through Facebook and Twitter that he had lost his job due to Parker and Ward over their alleged racism toward him. He posted a video he recorded in first-person during the attack, prior to updating his statuses about his aggression toward the two victims. Both Facebook and Twitter accounts were taken down quickly.

“Vester was an unhappy man. He had a reputation for being difficult to work with,” said Jeff Marks, the general manager of WDBJ.

It has been recently reported that Flanagan had shot himself hours after the attack while he was confronted by police during a chase. He is now in critical condition.
