The Tropical Storm Warnings Have Spread Toward The U.S. And Surrounding Areas

The United States, British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Leeward Islands are all within the warnings as well as most northern Caribbean islands.

As of 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Erika’s top-recorded winds are 50mph. It is unsure whether Erika can survive the next 48 hours, but it slowly strengthening into a category 1 is expected. Everything else is unclear past Saturday. The coast of the Dominican Republic will be affected tomorrow.

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, Virgin Islands will be affected by Erika today, and tonight the storm will move over to Puerto Rico.

Dominica’s Douglas-Charles Airport had been struck by Erika, causing huge amounts of property damage and several reported deaths.
