Knowing that her customers had just spent the night battling an extreme fire at a warehouse, waitress Lizz Woodward decided to bring them a ‘Thank You’ and not a bill.

The New Jersey firefighters were delighted to see what the note read, along with a cute drawing of a little fire axe and a helmet.

Tim Young’s Facebook Post

Firefighter Tim Young posted the story and a photo of the note to Facebook, to let everyone know of the good deed.

Young did a little more digging about the kind waitress, and found out that she had started a GoFundMe page. She was trying to raise  $17,000 to buy her father a wheelchair accessible van.

Young then took to social media, and his post went viral! His posts were shared thousands of times and according to ABC News, 1,000 people donated more than $67,000 — $50,000 more than her goal.

“This is just one example of how so many people in this world have incredible hearts and they pay it forward, so the circle keeps on moving,” Woodward
